This is a backyard ultra. We will offer a 7km X-C course that needs to be completed every hour. At the start of every hour a legendary gong will be drummed. This will signal the start of a fresh hour and lap. Those who have not completed their lap unfortunately this will mark the end of the journey. This will allow athletes to continue to strive towards completing the race and course. May 18, 2024

The Fat Ass as we lovingly call it began 19 years ago with 23 participants who didn't quite know what they had gotten themselves into and who fell in love with running the trails of the Batawa area. Over the years the Fat Ass has grown to be one of the biggest trail races in Ontario, and despite the size of it, we maintain the inclusive atmosphere so everyone feels welcome; fast, slow, young, old, runners and walkers.
